It is with great sadness that we have been advised of the sad passing of eight times Point-to-Point winner Minimalistic.

Trained and owned by Sue and Edward Darke, based at their farm known as Coleridge, Kinsgbridge, South Devon, who sadly lost Minimalistic due to heart failure on the gallops at their home on 9th January.

Minimalistic, sired by Definite Article, and known affectionately as Thomas, died at the age of 12 years and he had given the Darke family many successes between the flags, with eight wins, including three times at the Flete Park track and twice winner at the Buckfastleigh course under jockeys Josh Newman, Will Biddick and Martin (Fly) McIntyre (pictured above). Also four runner up places including a thrilling second to Sykes in the Ineos Open at Great Trethew in 2022.

He will be sadly missed by all and was ridden out daily by Edward, alongside his retired stable mate Moonaro, ridden by Edward’s wife Sue.

Our thoughts go out to the family and team supporting and caring for Minimalistic.
