Clearly in this Covid-19 era there will be a need for flexibility and amendments to the fixture list, likely on an on-going basis as we negotiate the winter and move into 2021.
Some changes have already become necessary (detailed below) and are unlikely to be the last as the situation evolves. We would like to take this opportunity to reassure everyone that, whilst it will be very sad to lose any fixtures or courses during these un-certain times, contingency planning is well advanced to create a reduced programme of fixtures for every weekend through the winter if forced to run with no paying public.
Fixtures and Areas have responded well to the proposals, and over the next few weeks we feel that we will be able to create an abbreviated fixture list which gives owners and trainers the opportunity to run their horses on a regular basis.
Latest changes to the fixture list, as of October 2:
– Sadly, Cottenham will not be running any fixtures this season.
– Hursley Hambledon has also stood down for this year but the Larkhill November fixture (November 29), including the card, will be run by the Avon Vale. No decision as yet has been made concerning the original Avon Vale fixture on March 28, 2021.
