Connolly’s RED MILLS are delighted to continue their longstanding support of the point-to-point industry in the UK.
In a new move for the global feed company, Connolly’s RED MILLS will be supporting two point-to-point meetings in 2020.
The first RED MILLS day is supporting the Larking Racing Club meet at Larkhill on 5th January. Larkhill is a great place to blow away the cobwebs and excesses from Christmas and the New Year festivities. With a large number of entries two races have been divided, creating a bumper day with nine races on the card, it’s set to be an exciting day full of action which starts at 10.30am. A full preview of the racing can be viewed here.
RED MILLS are delighted to be sponsoring one of the feature races of the day, the Mens Open. Entries include the first two home in the Cheltenham Foxhunters last March when Hazel Hill beat Shantou Flyer by four lengths. Whereas Hazel Hill won his remaining outing again at Cheltenham in May and remained unbeaten Shantou Flyer was not seen again and has now been moved by owner David Maxwell from Richard Hobson to Rose Loxton. If both declare the race ought to be between them and it should be a fascinating renewal.
Adam Johnson, UK Thoroughbred Manager at Connolly’s RED MILLS, said: “We are really looking forward to this first RED MILLS day point-to-point, supporting the Larkhill Racing Club meeting at Larkhill. Alongside continuing our support of the national awards, with the RED MILLS National Champion Horse and Foran Equine Trainers Championships, the day gives us a chance to give back to an industry that supports us.”
Larkhill Racecourse course is in a spectacular setting on Salisbury Plain. A great family day out, entry is £10pp with under 16’s and parking free. Larkhill Racecourse is to be found 5m NW of Amesbury, Nr A303, A345 and A360 – Postcode SP4 8QT.
