Our thanks go to all the Videographers who contribute footage to this site and work to provide as much national coverage of UK Point-to-Point racing as possible. All of the Videographers are able to provide copies of races and many have extensive archive footage available, so please support them and visit their websites to view their portfolios or contact them directly.
Provision of footage for the 2023-24 Season was once gain generously supported by the Jockey Club – ‘working together to create the total viewing experience’.
Jeff Guyett has been a racing fan from the age of four, when his family used to go to Kempton Park. Jeff attended his first Point-to-Point at Kilworthy in 1977 and has been hooked ever since. He set up Westcountry Videos in 1990, filming mostly in the Devon & Cornwall and Wessex areas, but often ventures as far afield as the West Midlands, Wales and East Anglia with his wife Sarah (an integral part of the team). West Country Videos film as many as 70 meetings per season and provide form guides for all of the Devon & Cornwall Point-to-Point racecards, plus some in Wessex.
Like most videographers, David and Barbara first started as still photographers but felt the best way to monitor their Point-to-Pointers’ performance was by watching it on video. While filming a race for themselves, they were asked to cover a Point-to-Point meeting. That was over 15 years ago and the rest, as they say, is history. David Jones Media now cover all of the Midlands Area meetings and several in Yorkshire and Cheshire. In 2015, the Company was awarded the Mark Ashton Achievement Award at the Annual Awards Dinner for their contribution to Point-to-Point racing in the Midlands Area.
Pembrokeshire Video Productions is operated by Nick and Vicky Pudsey. We have been filming point-to-points for longer than some of today’s jockeys have been born and yes, filming some of the jockey’s parents too (That bit hurts !). Our aim remains the same; that is to provide high quality footage for our viewers to re-live the excitement of the racing and all the emotions that go with it. Using multiple camera positions makes it not possible to deliver the finished film on the day as there is many hours of editing that goes into each meeting, but the feed back we get make it worth our time spent on the edit.
We offer a variety of services from aerial photography and video and travel nationwide.
Keith provides video coverage from the Northern Area together with a number of fixtures in Yorkshire.
Mat is a hugely experienced horseman having worked within racing for 40 years; he has tasted success as a conditional Jockey, Trainer and Owner/Breeder. His 20-year involvement is Pointing started as a Trainer, his best horse being Tubber Roads who won 4 Hunter Chases and was among the favourites for the the 2002 Aintree Foxhunters. His interest in Pointing has continued since the end of his training career and he now films most of the East Anglia and South Midlands area fixtures.
This year he increased his media interests in Point-to-Point playing a pivotal part in the streaming of footage from fixtures in the South Midlands – but he is willing to travel further afield upon request!
