Over the last few months, the Point-to-Point Authority has been working very closely with the Point-to-Point Secretaries Association and Fixture Secretaries on next season’s fixture list.
As part of a three-year plan, we’re working together on achieving a more balanced fixture calendar across the season and easing fixture congestion around Easter and bank holidays.
It won’t be an overnight fix, but you will hopefully already notice some positive changes in next season’s calendar.
We’re encouraging fixtures to spread over a weekend rather than all running on the same day and suggesting more Wednesday or Friday evening meetings.
The fixture list still counts as provisional until BHA sign-off in September, but any changes are unlikely or will be minimal.
Fixture Secretaries are starting to work on race-planning for their fixtures, and we will look to announce race programmes for pre-Christmas fixtures by the middle of September.
In the meantime enjoy your summer.
