Jolie Joue and Hoo’s The Jet are British point-to-point entries in today’s Tattersalls Cheltenham December Sale.

The four-year-old geldings join a catalogue of 29 lots due to go under the hammer after this afternoon’s race meeting.

Jolie Joue has run and won twice for Fred Timmis’s Cheshire stable, landing a maiden at Hexham on quick ground in the spring before he was twice offered for sale but returned to vendor at Goffs UK’s Spring and Summer auctions. Timmis is hoping for better luck this evening after the four-year-old son of Ocovango proved he could handle softer conditions with an easy win in a restricted race at Garthorpe last month under Huw Edwards.

The son of an unraced Oscar mare, he is a half-brother to a pair of jumping winners under rules and four point-to-point winners.

Hoo’s The Jet (Lot 13) ran on Sunday in Britain’s sole point-to-point restricted to four-year-olds and held at Chaddesley Corbett. He was lying fourth, two lengths behind the leader and eventual winner Briskalo as they approached the final fence, but showed a fine turn of foot on touching down under Darren Andrews and was beaten a mere head into second.

A son of Jet Away from Josh Newman’s stable, Hoo’s The Jet was bought at Tattersalls Ireland’s May Sale last year for €11,500. He is out of a mare who won twice over hurdles and hails from the family of high-class jumpers Strong Flow and Strong Leader.
