Point-to-point racing has received a further boost after the Horserace Betting Levy Board (HBLB) confirmed that £413,916 will be awarded to the sport in 2026 as part of its latest round of non-fixture related grants.
The funding recognises the important role point-to-pointing plays within the wider racing ecosystem, supporting the development of young horses and riders, providing an accessible entry point for owners and spectators, and offering experienced horses opportunities beyond racing under Rules.
The latest grant continues the Levy Board’s long-standing support of the amateur sport. Since 2000, the HBLB has contributed £6.8 million to point-to-point racing, helping fund areas such as fixture grants, marketing, officials’ training and horse welfare initiatives.
This funding forms part of a wider £10.5 million package of non-fixture related grants supporting a range of projects across British racing in 2026, alongside significant investment in prize money, training, welfare and industry development.
For full details on the 2026 grant allocations, read the announcement on the HBLB website.
