Thirty-seven entries been received for the Randox Foxhunters’ Chase on the opening day of Aintree’s three-day Randox Grand National meeting.
Barton Snow, who won last week’s Princess Royal Challenge Cup Hunters’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, is one of four entries from Joe O’Shea’s Cheshire yard, the others being last year’s Aintree winner Gracchus De Balme plus Paul Marvel and Willewonga.
Two other former winners have been entered, namely Famous Clermont, who won for Chris Barber’s stable in 2023, and Its On The Line who scored for Emmet Mullins a year later. Nine-year-old Its On The Line, an ever-present in top-end hunters’ chases, finished runner-up to Barton Snow in Cheltenham’s race, the fourth time running he had taken second place in the race. The Kelly Morgan-trained Music Drive, who was third at Cheltenham, could face him and Barton Snow again at Aintree.
The Dan Skelton-trained Jet Plane, who was runner-up to Gracchus De Balme in last year’s race, is entered, as is A Jet Of Our Own, who finished fifth.
