The Point-to-Point Authority announce GB Pointing Bonus scheme approved by Horserace Betting Levy Board for 2026/27 season.

Paul Miller, Chief Executive of the PPA said “We are delighted to be able to make this early announcement ahead of next week’s Doncaster Sales. This will allow trainers to make plans and purchase horses in the knowledge the scheme is already approved for our 2026/27 season. The 15-race series has been a great success this season, receiving lots of interest and traction across pointing and racing in general. It’s produced some great horses and some excellent sales figures.

Winners of a GB Pointing young-horse maiden race land a bonus of £25,000 if GB bred (£15,000 if bred overseas) should they subsequently be successful with a British licenced trainer within two years in any of the following:

  • A class 1 hurdle or chase
  • Any weight-for-age novice or maiden hurdle, or novice or beginners’ chase
  • Any Class 2 or 3 novices’ handicap chase

Miller continued “I’d personally like to thank HBLB for underwriting the scheme to the value of £250,000, once again showing their continued support for British point-to-pointing. By being able to make the announcement now, owners and trainers can build the bonus into their plans. Once again, there will be 15 races in the series, and we will shortly begin planning on where and when the races fit into the fixture calendar”
