Friday’s impressive Aintree point-to-point bumper victress Wise Maiden and a pair of GB Pointing Bonus Young Horse Maiden Series winners will be going under the hammer at Doncaster tomorrow (Wednesday).
The trio are appearing at Goffs UK’s Spring Horses-in-Training/Point-to-Point Sale, an end-of-season opportunity to buy and sell jumping horses from stables on both sides of the Irish Sea. Herefordshire trainer Chris Barber will be in the thick of the action for he offers the four-year-old ‘bonus hunters’ Rockatansky (pictured above, Lot 394), who scored at Charm Park in April, and Chasing Good Times (Lot 424), who won at Eyton-on-Severn earlier this month.
Both horses made winning debuts and will be offered with the carrot that they can land a £15,000 bonus if successful in a developmental hurdle or chase within two years of their point-to-point victories. They were each bred in Ireland, although they would have been in line for a £25,000 bonus had they been bred in Britain.

Their victories came in a 15-race series limited to four- and five-year-olds, backed by the Levy Board and BHA and sponsored by Tattersalls Cheltenham and Goffs. It was recently announced that the series will be staged again next season.
Wise Maiden has yet to jump a fence in public, but she has made her mark in point-to-point Flat races, finishing placed on debut at Larkhill, hacking up at Bangor-on-Dee and then romping to victory at Aintree last week. She was ridden on the latter occasion by her trainer, Gina Andrews.
