Since the last of these announcements on 24th January, we have sadly lost three races but hopefully will get going again at Leicester tomorrow, not that the weather forecast is much better over the next few days. This leaves us with the sad statistic of 50% of the first 8 races having been claimed by frost or snow, and all races in that number were Opens to give people a chance to qualify for Cheltenham.
On that note, as mentioned in the last posting, owners are again reminded that entries for the Cheltenham Foxhunters close on 26th of February, and qualification can be earned in races taking place up to and in races on Sunday 24th February.
In the list below you will see nine further races taking us up to the end of the month, including just three Opens (two of which are within that qualifying period), five Grassroots races, one being a Maiden, and one at Ludlow being a Restricted race, for horses who have not won more than three steeple chases. As before, the races have a good geographical spread, offer some good prize money, and of note is the very valuable Open at Leicester on 26th February.
A further posting will be put up towards the end of the month to cover the first half of March, and we wish all Good Hunters’ Chasing and fair weather to help it on its way.
