For all Owners wishing to make entries for the Belvoir at Garthorpe, on the 26th March, please be aware that the race times have been adjusted from what was originally published in the Planner, and that the last 2 races on the card have swapped their racecard order. The changes have been brought about due to part of the 17th Rutland-Melton International CICLE classics 2023 cycle races being held on the same day as the meeting, with a few road closures included, and to allow the shortest race of the day to now be the final race.
The first race was due to run at 12.30 pm but has now been put back to 2pm. The correct timings and race card order is now as listed below;
Race 1 – Hunt Members – 2.00 pm
Race 2 – Restricted – 2.40 pm
Race 3 – intermediate – 3.10 pm
Race 4 – Mixed Open – 3.45 pm
Race 5 – Maiden (NWFAA) – 4.15 PM
RACE 6 – NOW IS THE – Six years and over Conditions (L2) – 4.45 PM
RACE 7 – NOW IS THE – Maiden – 2m4f – 5.15 pm
ROAD CLOSURES
Melton to Stapleford will be totally closed to traffic from around 10.45 to 11.30 on the day. This will then be repeated later in the day from around 15.45 to 16.30. All other roads will be closed on a rolling road basis which is as the race approaches and passes each point. So all the other parts of the course will remain passable to traffic, but with a degree of delay of possibly 10-15 minutes maximum. The Police and meeting organisers will be in contact with the cycle race officials at this point, and on standby, should any ambulance need to ‘blue light’ in the event of any accidents.
For any queries or further information on the cycle event and movement in and out of the course please contact the secretary (details on page 169 of the Planner) or organisers of the Garthorpe meeting.
