Captain Tommy trained by Cheshire-based Fred Timmis, heads to Kempton tomorrow, [Tuesday] in pursuit of a hat-trick in the hunter-chase. If he wins he will provide his owners, The Pointing Syndicate Racing Club with a valuable £5000 bonus donated by racing broadcaster Nick Luck.
The bonus offered by ‘The Nick Luck Daily Podcast’ was to any horse who had ran in a point-to-point and won hunter-chases at both Catterick and Kempton. The task seemed unlikely, due to Catterick’s trip being over three miles one furlong and Kempton over two and a half, however along came Captain Tommy, a horse whose versatility is proven.
Dom D’Antonio who runs the Pointing Syndicate Racing Club says: “We have had an unexpected amazing season, all credit must go to Fred Timmis as he has brought out improvement in him with a varied routine. There are a number of owners going to Kempton tomorrow and we will have a great day no matter what. We will be giving out Captain Tommy scarves, he has become a great horse.” Timmis adds: “Kempton became a target after Catterick and when he went and win at Ludlow like he did over the Kempton trip it became a real plan. We were entered at Aintree Thursday but the bonus was too tempting. He takes his racing well, is fresh and well so we are looking forward to tomorrow.”
Good luck Captain Tommy and connections.
