The latest running of the Hunter Chase Evening fixture takes place at Cheltenham next Friday, 5th May, and is the final fixture of the season at the Jockey Club’s leading racecourse.
For the second season, the centrepiece of the card is the INEOS Grenadier Mixed Open Final, won last year by Dandy Dan (pictured above in red and yellow) and Lauren Keen-Hawkins (below with connections). The card comprises seven races, and other highlights include the Intermediate Final and a Mares Hunter Chase, both over approximately three-and-a-quarter miles, and an Open Hunter Chase over four miles, the longest such race in the calendar.
Entries close for all races at noon on Saturday 29th April.
In addition to the seven races, Cheltenham is again laying on a range of entertainment for racegoers of all ages, the highlight being Radio One DJ Jordan North performing in the Centaur after racing – entry is by wristband, and costs £15.
In recognition of the King’s Coronation the following day, the Equicizer in the Hall of Fame will have a royal theme – anyone can have a go at being a jockey and be photographed against a regal backdrop. For younger visitors, there will be arts and crafts and – for the over 18s – the Quevega bar hosts a jazz band with jugs of Pimms on offer.
