It is that time again and the Hunters’ Chase season kicks off again at Taunton on Tuesday 7th January, with entries closing on Wednesday 1st; this will then be followed with a further four races before the end of the month and two more, both on 1st February. Races shown below cover all races during that period.
Please note that all these races are Opens, giving horses ample time and opportunities to qualify for the Cheltenham Foxhunter. Qualification for this race closes on the night of February 23rd 2020. These Open races are run at distances of between 2 miles 4 furlongs and 3 miles 2 furlongs, and over a wide spread of the country.
As with previous seasons, it is intended to promote these races on the official Point-to-Point website once with this notice in January and another in early February, and then in each of the following months, bi-monthly, when the season becomes busier. The schedule of races is as shown on the chart below:
Hunters’ Chase Details – January to and including 1st February.
Wishing you all the very best of luck for the season ahead, do please support these races, there is some good prize money on offer, and let us hope plenty of our pointing supporters will come and enjoy days on our racecourses across the country when they are taking place.
