The latest update on Equine Influenza outbreaks can be found here EIDS – EI updates 2026.
Paul Miller, Point-to-Point Authority CEO said “It would appear reported case numbers of Equine Flu have slowed considerably over the summer and since the conclusion of the 2025/26 point-to-point season. Hopefully this trajectory will continue. The BHA are aiming to review the situation in early September once most summer equine events and shows have taken place. Although too early to know for sure, we would hope if there has not been a resurgence the BHA will be able to remove the current prohibition of horses from non-licensed premises on under-rules racecourses. This in turn would hopefully allow the normal resumption of hunter chases and other cross-over events”
