Five horses remain in Exeter’s Goffs Spring Sales P2P Flat Race which takes place tomorrow (7.55pm).

Two members of the field ran at Chaddesley Corbett on Saturday, including Optical Girl, who is the sole contender for the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association’s 3-2-1 Bonus worth up to £3,000. It is given to the first filly or mare across the line if she finishes in the first three, is bred in Britain and is owned by a TBA member/s. The full bonus is paid if such a filly or mare wins the race, £2,000 for second place or £1,000 for third place.

The Glyn Slade-Jones-trained Optical Girl, who was partnered by novice rider Jacrhys Jones when missing the start and then pulling up in Chaddesley Corbett’s 13-runner point-to-point Flat race, will be ridden by the experienced Tommie O’Brien at Exeter, while the Teresa Clark-trained Fountains Chief, who finished fourth in Saturday’s race, will be the mount of Will Biddick tomorrow.

Also in tomorrow’s line-up are the Irish-bred mares Hinterleitenweg, the mount of her trainer, Matt Hampton, and Rose Above It, who will be ridden by Charlie Sprake for Joe Tickle. The likely favourite for the contest, Crews Pitch, won a Flat race at Revesby Park last month for trainer James Ridley. Zac Baker, who rode the son of Dr Massini, retains the ride.
