Two weeks in advance of the fixture, the going is Good, Good to Firm in places following overnight frost. Plenty of rain is forecast between now and the meeting. (Updated 11.30am, Sun 11 Jan)
Wide rectangular course of about 1m2f with minor undulations, built on site of former wheatfields. Quick-draining chalk soil likely to ensure surface doesn’t become too testing, and definitely a course to exploit early season (no watering facility available as yet). Portable fences all metal-framed or a combination of metal and wood (2-4), well-built and up to size.

Point-to-points provide an ideal opportunity to spend a day in the countryside with your dog, although please remember that dogs must always be on a lead, should not be left in cars unattended (particularly in warmer weather), and to clean up after them.
Disabled parking and access to facilities is usually available. Please advise our gate staff on arrival and they will be able to help you. Note that the going underfoot can be muddy and the terrain may be uneven.
For visitors wanting to stay overnight locally, we recommend the Kings Head at Bledington.
Many of the shopping outlets will take card payments, but be sure to take enough cash to cover the cost of admission and a racecard, any bets you wish to place, and food and drink.
The bar, in the heated family tent, serves real ales from Donnington Brewery, cold lager from Hawkstone, quality wines and plenty of non-alcoholic cocktails. If you don’t bring your own picnic, the Shopping Village has all the food you could possibly want.
There is a shopping hall adjoining the family picnic tent, which will be jam-packed with fantastic goodies.
In addition to the six races over fences – which are preceded by three pony races – there is a plethora of other activities to enjoy, from family fun and face painting in the kids zone and heated family picnic tent (with free wi-fi), a parade of hounds, and terrier and other dog racing from 1.00. There will also be a tug of war, bungee run, bucking bronco and more.
