Goffs UK’s August Sale, which includes a handful of British pointers, breaks new ground when taking place today.
A mixed sale involving horses-in-training and breeding stock, it has added for the first time a section of two-year-old jumping stores. They have been included to tie in with an initiative by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) to promote the training and racing of horses at a younger age. A series of juvenile hurdles restricted to three-year-olds who have not run on the Flat is part of the scheme, hence the need for a sale of two-year-old stores who can be placed with trainers in advance of such races.
The British pointers on offer include the Phil Rowley-trained Turbo Dave (Lot 67), who was second at Chaddesley Corbett in early June on his most recent start, No Risk With Lou (Lot 90), who won at Bratton Down for trainer Neil McLean, and Looking For Larry (Lot 113) who is being offered by Jill Dennis having won at Trebudannon.
The sale starts at 10am – the results can be viewed here: https://www.goffsuk.com/sales-results/sales/august-sale-2022
