The Curre & Llangibby point-to-point at Howick last Sunday saw two visitors from the Ukraine. Mr and Mrs Ben Herbert, who have horses in training with Nickie Sheppard for their sons Milo and Ivor to ride, are hosting two Ukrainians – Yuliia Popovych and Artem Khodak – who have been displaced from their homes by the ongoing war.

The Herberts’ Welsh’s Castle – ridden by Ivor – ran in the Conditions Race at the Welsh venue last Sunday and Yuliia and Artem paid their first visit to a point-to-point to see the horse finish a close fifth.

The photograph shows the pair being presented with a print of champion jockey James King in action by Nickie (left) and James himself (right).
