Eleven fixtures up to end of March have decided not to run this season. A few others have kindly moved dates to create a more balanced programme across the country.
Following considerable consultation between PPA, PPSA and fixtures, 11 fixtures have decided not to run this season, both for their own reasons and to help make others more viable. However, with a few kindly agreeing to move dates we continue to have a balanced national programme, which should allow good entries at all, which are key to financing the fixtures. The new fixture list can be downloaded here (changes are highlighted green/red for ease).
We have also agreed a Contingency Fixture list if racing continues without the paying public. This results in a few more fixtures dropping out to make the remainder viable, and one or two will alter their dates accordingly. That contingency list includes 2-3 fixtures a week from mid-Jan to end-Feb and then 4-5 fixtures a week in March (in line with larger entries expected at that time of year). This list will be released a month ahead on a monthly basis when a decision is made that that month will run with/without paying public. This should allow everyone, both fixtures and participants, to be able to plan ahead.
We are enormously grateful for everyone’s co-operation to make this possible, and are humbled by both the willingness and effort of the fixtures to work with us to make our sport possible.
