The second Charing Races takes place at Palace Farm Charing TN27 0JS on Saturday 31st January 1st Race 12 noon. Gates open 10 am the meeting has attracted 88 entries
The meeting kicks off with a 3 mile Maiden, 18 entries.
Diamond Appeal trained by Bea Coward and ridden by Martin Mcintyre has been placed this season and could improve for his last run. Farfromaway trained by Francesca Poste has been placed and unseated on last run when still in contention .Ice Prowler placed in Irish Maidens trained by Nigel Padfield and ridden by Leading Lady rider Gina Andrews is one to consider.
Race 2 Conditions Level 2, 16 entries
Of the 16 entries 10 are double entered in the Mens Open and Conditions level 3. Arctic Oscar trained and ridden by Gina Andrews could be the likely favourite the stable had three winners at Cocklebarrow on Sunday. Holiday Fund trained and ridden by Josh Newman has been placed 2nd twice this season and could go one better. Spirit of Legend placed over fences in Ireland could improve for his last run trained by Tim Vaughan and ridden by Ed Vaughan.
Race 3 Mens Open 3 miles, 12 entries
Al Gasparo and Beacon Edge are both trained by Josh Newman and have both won this season Douglas Longbottom was a prolific winner last season and has been placed this season trained by Bea Coward. Empire de Maulde won the Mens Open at the last Charing meeting easily.
Race 4 Ladies Open 3mls, 9 entries.
This looks to be between Fairly Famous ridden and trained by Gina Andrews winner at Horseheath on 31/12 and I K Brunel trained by Alan Hill won Ladies Open at Ampton 10/1. Champagne Noir missed last season he may need the run after the absence but had good form previously.
Race 5 Conditions Level 3, 19 entries
Call me Early trained and ridden by Gina Andrews won 3 races last season. He won at Ampton on 10th Jan and is one to follow .Fame and Concrete trained by Nicholas Wright won 2 races in 2025 has yet to race this season. Kansas du Berlais trained by Christopher Clarke has been placed in a Mixed Open this season he is also entered in the Mens and Ladies Open. Skandiberg trained by Harry Whittingham and ridden by Zac Baker was disappointing on last run but could return to form.
Race 6 Restricted, 14 entries
Monrocco Moonlight trained by Alan Hill won the Restricted at the last Charing meeting he should be capable of defying the 5lb penalty. Catch me Quick 2nd in this race has an entry on Sunday so may not reoppose. Alan Hill also has The Dancing Tree entered placed at Ampton. Validation trained by Nigel Padfield and ridden by Gina Andrews was consistent in 2025 and capable of winning.
