The second of two meetings at the popular Upcott Cross track takes place on Bank Holiday Monday. It is the final day for Championships and we have many entries that will help towards the last few titles! The first race is at 2pm with gates opening at midday. Entry is £15 per person with under 16s going free. Postcode EX21 5AE

Totnes & Bridgetown Racing Company Ltd Conditions (Level 2)

The opening race is very hotly contested with Clonagoose looking to win his seventh race of the season and is bidding for Leading National Horse for Emma Summersby and owners John Gardener and Torben Hughes. Woodstock Octo (Josh Newman) is another who has won six races for Josh Newman and it would be quite the clash to see these two lock horns. Galudon has won five races this season for Luke Price, who looks set to take the 6-14 horse National Trainers title and is another competitive horse to throw into the mix. Of the others, African Lady, for Jimmer Cole, got the better of Talimar Pearl to win a Conditions over 2m4f at Flete Park. Castle Robin was giving Louis Davidson a dream first ride before unseating at the last when in contention.

Giffords Chartered Accountants Restricted

Emma Freeman gave All Rise Malone a wonderful ride to win at South Hill on their debut as a partnership. They will have to carry 5lb extra for that win. Josh Newman had another impressive winner at Holnicote when Diamonds and Denim landed the Maiden unchallenged and looks a nice horse going forward and should be one to take a strong interest in here. Emmas Wish (John Heard) took her Maiden and Restricted at both Trebudannon meetings but did not look to finish her race from the back of two out here two weeks ago. The wonderful Lough Owel gave Mia Holmes a fabulous spin to finish 2nd behind Riskamatriark and there will be plenty of people cheering Mia on to go one better this time. Walkingtheline (Chris Barber) won her Restricted in a match race at Cothelstone evening meeting and Slide Rule has been fairly consistent for James Shaw, who is riding this for his parents.

Simpkins Edwards Chartered Accountants Conditions (Level 1)

Multiple horses hold entries in both this race and the first and it will be interesting to see who goes in what. Clondaw Drake could come here off the back of two wins, mostly recently under Lucas Murphy in the Novice Riders at Cothelstone. The legend of a little mare, Conor’s Gift won well at Bratton Down and relishes this time of year and Anna Johnston gets a great tune out of her. Another mare to have been very good to connections is Madame Le’strange, who was 2nd by a neck to Hidden Heroics at Vauterhill for the Will Biddick team. John Heard ran his new horse, Earths Furies at the last meeting here at Upcott Cross and he was running well until unfortunately falling at the last. Clonagoose, Galudon and Castle Robin have the option of this race as well.

Dunbia Mixed Open

12 entries have been received for the Open race of the day. Josh Newman has the two John Symes horses entered in Beacon Edge and Al Gasparo. They both ran and won last weekend and could look to bounce out again quickly. Captain Tommy won the Open here two weeks ago, getting the better of the classy Hearts Corner and gave The Prouse Family a wonderful and well deserved successful day! Jewel In The Park has been incredible for Ed Doggrell this season and remains unbeaten. This could be his toughest task to date. Macklin took a Hunter Chase at Exeter under Josh Newman for Will Biddick but did not seem to fire when he reappeared last time out so will be looking to make amends for that disappointing performance.

Fahey Concrete Maiden Conditions

For horses who have had at least two starts in Point To Points, this race has received nine entries. Crystal De France looked a big 4 year old and finished behind Duffry Sea here two weeks ago for Blackmore Racing Club. Jack Oddsocks (Leslie Jefford) ran a very good race at Badbury Rings in February and reappeared after a while off the track at South Hill, but may have needed the run. Ed Vaughan is booked to ride the Emma Summersby trained Monderra, who finished 3rd at Vauterhill behind Run Ruby Run. Francesca Poste could look to make the long journey down with Rum N Reggae who unseated when he was last seen at Eyton in the GB Pointing Bonus.

F.C Cleaning Systems Maiden

Rebecca Vanstone will be hoping for a winner here with Devon Rogue, who ran very well on debut at Lower Machen last month. Montana Golden (Charlotte Hawker) finished 2nd at Vauterhill and could be the main danger if stepping forward for that run. Ed Walker brings forward Glenary, who finished 2nd to Cherry Lane at Flete Park. Tim Dennis will be hoping that Fluffy Dice can finally get a number next to his form instead of a letter. He was running well up to a point here two weeks ago and the step back in trip to 2m4f could suit.
