Round 7 of this seasons GB Pointing Bonus YHM series went the way of GB bred horse Kingofthefrontier for trainer Cherry Coward.
Winning on debut, this five-year-old son of Overbury Stud stallion Frontiersman, jumped well in the main under jockey Joe Wright who was content to sit at the back of the 5 runner field from an early stage in proceedings. He was in the midst of making a stylish move 6 from home where he made several lengths on the field, however a slow, novicey jump at the following ditch saw him drop back to the rear just as the race was beginning in earnest.
Joe kept his cool and was rewarded as Kingofthefrontier (to his credit) composed himself, got back into the contest and produced a strong challenge to move past the game Helm Bar (GB) in the closing stages. Displaying a nice turn of foot which hints there’s plenty of potential to be tapped into.
