Facilities

Dogs Welcome

Point-to-points provide an ideal opportunity to spend a day in the countryside with your dog, although please remember that dogs must always be on a lead, should not be left in cars unattended (particularly in warmer weather), and to clean up after them.

Accessibility

Disabled parking and access to facilities is usually available. Please advise our gate staff on arrival and they will be able to help you. Note that the going underfoot can be muddy and the terrain may be uneven.

Local Area

The Lambert Arms, in the nearby village of Aston Rowant, offers food, drink and accommodation.

Other local pubs nearby are the Leathern Bottle in Lewknor and the Inn at Emmington.

The Sir Charles Napier near Chinnor offers high-quality dining.

Kingston Blount is only 20 miles from Oxford, which offers a number of tourist attractions, accommodation and food and drink options.

Card Accepted

Many of the shopping outlets will take card payments, but be sure to take enough cash to cover the cost of admission and a racecard, any bets you wish to place, and food and drink.

Food and Drink

The Kimblewick Supporters Club will again be running the Stables Bar. A range of stalls selling hot and cold drinks and food will also be present.

Shopping

There will be a number of stands selling clothing, accessories and other household items.

Entertainment

There will again be a Family Dog Show, following the success of last year’s event, with multiple classes to suit any breed, size and age of dog. The emphasis will be on fun, but there are rosettes for every class and a championship to be won! Entries can be made on the day. For details, contact Louise McTeague of Dairy Lane Dog Grooming at louisemcteague@gmail.com or on 01491 579442.
There will also be the customary champagne and whisky raffle, with tickets sold on race day only. The ticket sellers will not accept ‘no’ as a response!

The well-establish Kimblewick Auction of Promises will again be a feature in 2026. This year, it features 34 lots to suit a range of budgets, with highlights including gallops mornings with Alan King and Ben Case, and a day’s fishing on the River Pang. For more information, and to bid on any lot in advance, contact Chris Austin at amhb@newbury.net or on 07876 235880.

General Ticket Information

Advance tickets are available (up to midnight on Friday 27th Feb) at the early bird price of £17.50pp at the Kimblewick Races website. On the day entry is £20pp (16s and under free).

For the first time this year, the fixture is offering Muti-Occupant Saver Admission, at an early bird price of £50 per car (£60 per car on the day). This provides entry for all occupants of the car and offers the best value if three or more adults are travelling together.

Getting There

The course is approximately two miles from Junction 6 of the M40 in the direction of Chinnor. There will be black and gold signs to the course from the M40 and in Kingston Blount village. For satnav, use postcode OX39 4SG.  We do not recommend you leave the motorway at Junction 5, as the route down Kingston Hill is both narrow and steep.
